What is Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir photography is an intimate, sexy and romantic form of portrait photography were you are the centre of attention. It involves pictures being taken of you while wearing lingerie or sexy underwear which you feel comfortable and sexy in. Boudoir is normally captured in a bedroom setting on the bed or in front of the mirror, but its where you feel most comfortable to express yourself... this can include the living room on the sofa, the bathroom with a shower or bath, the beach with sand, and just about anywhere else where you can imagine...

Each "Body" has a story to tell...

Who should do a Boudoir Photography session?

Everyone....Every person should try a Boudoir session. Why? Because you will not be the same afterwards. It will boost your confidence and change you as a person. Most people are horrified standing in front of a camera half naked, and this is totally understanding, it's in our nature to feel shy about our sexuality or being exposed without clothes because of our feelings of being self conscious. But what Boudoir does is amazing, it empowers you to discover a part of you which you never knew existed. It doesn't matter what your age, how many wrinkles, layers of fat, cellulite, scars, imperfections, or whatever you feel self conscious about, this all evaporates as you embrace who you are and realise that you are beautiful and out of 7 Billion people on planet earth there is no one like you! You are a unique and beautiful in your own way and that's worth capturing... I have personally captured young and older woman in Boudoir with different body compositions and each photo session is beautiful, not because of their looks, but the confidence and empowerment which shines through in the photos.

What do woman say who have done a Boudoir Photoshoot?

Before experiencing a Boudoir Photoshoot most woman would say:

"but I don't look like her"....

" I don't look good in underwear..."

" I have stretch marks..."

" I dislike...."

"what will people think..."

"I don't think I'm good enough..."

Well yes we all look different and in some cases have very negative opinions about ourselves as we reflect and try to compare ourselves to what we think the ideal person should look like...but we have to remember trying to strive for a certain body type is not a bad thing, but don't put yourself down because you look a certain way. Wont I feel uncomfortable in front of the Photographer?

I truly understand were you coming from, a very valid question to ask indeed... This is a very common fear for many woman, because lets be real, you are exposing your half naked body to a photographer you barely know and the feelings of being judged is normal...But I want to reassure you there is nothing to be concerned or worried about, you will be captured in a relaxed judge free environment where you can be yourself completely...and I will encourage and motivate you every step of the way. To me its about bringing out the best of you and make you feel amazing and empowered. Before the shoot we can sit down and discuss every question you might have or even go for a coffee beforehand and talk all things Boudoir if it will help.... I promise to make you feel as comfortable as possible and I will be there to encourage you every step of the way.

What Should I Wear with Boudoir Photography?

Majority of boudoir shoots are performed with lingerie or sexy underwear. But it's totally up to your discretion with whatever outfit makes you feel sexy or empowered. Some of the outfits worn can include the following:

Sexy lingerie or underwear

Oversized sweater or T Shirt with panties

Bra and Panties...(White, Black, Red etc.)

Sports Jersey with underwear

Classic Bathrobe

Silk Slip Dress

A leather jacket with underwear

A leather jacket with underwear

Completely Nude showing nothing but skin

In conjunction with your outfit I have plenty of props available to assist with the shoot and tell a story.

How to prepare for a Boudoir Photography Session?

Before the day of your session we can have a conversation about any questions or concerns you might have. After the discussion we should have the following questions answered:

1) Your Photography Session Shooting location (indoor or outdoor)

2) The Date and Time

3) What you will be wearing and props that will be used

4) Who will be doing your hair and make up ( You or a dedicated beauty artist which can be arranged)

Once we have established all of the above ,we can proceed with booking your sophisticated boudoir photo session. When you get to the studio or shoot location, you’ll get your hair and makeup done if you have not done so already . Then, we can finalize all your outfits. When your session starts, I will guide you every step of the way with posing so that you can feel relaxed and empowered so the true you can shine. Overall the session should take 1 to 2 hours, but I'm in no rush you can take your time to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Once your session is done, I will let you know when your photos will be available.

What should I do with my Photos?

Your Boudoir photos can be used and kept as a reminder of a time when you embraced your inner beauty expressed externally. A time when you overcame a fear or a challenge. A time when you wanted to be daring and followed through. If you in a relationship these photos can be given to your spouse as a gift or be shared with those closest to you.
